One of the politicians pushing back against harsher restrictions being introduced in the north of England is the Conservative MP for Bolton West, Chris Green.

He resigned as a junior member of the government yesterday over Boris Johnson’s approach to tackling the pandemic, saying “the attempted cure was worse than the disease”.

We spoke to him just before we came on air and asked him why he decided to quit.
