Young medics leaving Lebanon as country teeters on brink of collapse

Lebanon is a country teetering on the brink of collapse. The optimism of the revolution in 2019 has now almost totally dissipated and the economy is in freefall.

The currency is plunging, bringing with it hyper-inflation. Last year’s massive explosion in Beirut’s port, which killed 200 and injured thousands more, making a bad situation even worse.

Many young people are now choosing to leave, including hundreds of doctors and nurses, who form the backbone of the country’s overstretched hospitals.
