Yemen: ‘300,000 kids at risk’ as all out bombardment launched on port

The civil war in Yemen has taken a dramatic new turn as Saudi-backed forces try to take the key rebel-held port of Hodeidah. Aid agencies say the coastal city provides a vital route for food and medicine and that millions of people are at risk of starvation if goods cannot pass through it. The Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson called on all sides to prioritise the protection of civilians and respect humanitarian law. Meritxell Relano, UNICEF’s Resident Representative in Yemen, believes the country’s entire population could be affected by the attack.
