Why are disabled people under-represented on public boards?

Companies and government buildings across the world are going purple today, to show support for the UN-designated International Day for people with Disabilities. But many public bodies remain highly unrepresentative of the more than 13 million people in the UK with disabilities.

We speak to Britain’s most successful Paralympic swimmer Lord Holmes of Richmond – who’s also deputy chairman of Channel 4 – who has carried out a review for the government to find out why there are so few disabled people being appointed to public boards.
