What now for politics in Northern Ireland?

Two weeks ago, Sinn Féin followed up their victory in last year’s Stormont elections with another historic first  – becoming the largest party in Northern Ireland’s local government.

It’s a significant reversal for Unionists and has sparked a debate about what they need to do to avoid being defeated again – especially if there were to be a “border poll” on whether Northern Ireland should remain part of the UK.
