How much did the United States know about allegations that a Russian spy unit offered cash bounties to militants linked to the Taliban to kill Coalition forces in Afghanistan?

Amid reports that intelligence was passed on to the highest levels of the White House, politicians from both sides are demanding to know what President Trump is going to do about it.
