West Midlands Police admits female firearms officer subject to sexual harassment and discrimination

Communities Editor

This programme has learned that England and Wales’s second largest police force has admitted that a female member of its firearms unit was subject to sexual harassment and discrimination.

West Midlands Police has declined to comment on the case, which is lodged at an employment tribunal.

But we have been told that the force has accepted liability over multiple allegations.

This follows serious concerns about the conduct of officers and staff in the firearms unit that we reported back in March.
