Washington remains on high alert while Biden plans executive orders for inauguration day

There’s usually tight security here in the run-up to a Presidential inauguration, but this time it is tighter than ever thanks to the deadly siege of Capitol Hill 11 days ago.

In state capitals across the US, law enforcement officers are on high alert for protests promised for today by Donald Trump’s supporters.

So far, no demonstrations have materialised but a man from the state of Virginia was arrested at a roadblock here in DC with a handgun and 500 rounds of ammunition.
