Voters go to the polls in historic UK election | General Election 2024

There are just hours left for people to vote for the UK’s next parliament.

Polling stations close at 10pm – when exit polls will give us an idea of who’ll be running the country for the next few years.

For the first time in a general election, voters have to show photo ID to cast their ballot.

But, delayed postal votes aside, it appears to be passing off smoothly.
