Virus plunges more people into poverty

They were families already living on the edge. Now, the economic catastrophe wrought by the virus has plunged even more parents and children into poverty. It is a toxic combination – a surge in the need for help, while support services can’t function properly.

A snapshot survey by the baby bank charity Little Village reveals frontline workers, like health visitors and midwives, say families are going without the very basics.
