‘Very difficult’ for party to recover from confidence vote, says Charles Walker MP

We spoke to the senior Conservative MP Sir Charles Walker, who was at the 1922 Committee meeting earlier and apparently told Mr Johnson “at times you’ve driven me absolutely wild”.

We put it to him that looking back at the Conservative prime ministers who had won confidence votes yet left office not long after, it wasn’t a happy precedent for Boris Johnson?
