A fortnight ago the world barely knew anything about high altitude spy balloons. Now they’ve inflated the already very bad vibes between the world’s two most powerful nations.
Earlier this month, a Chinese spy balloon was taken down by a US missile off the coast of South Carolina.
Then this weekend, three objects were shot down over Alaska, Canada and Michigan but the US military has not said where they believe they originated.
China claimed that US high altitude balloons had flown over its airspace more than 10 times in the last year.
