UK weather becoming more extreme, says Met Office

Weather in the UK is becoming more extreme, according to the latest research published by the Met Office.

Its latest analysis of data gathered since the 1960s says warm spells have more than doubled in length. And the amount of rainfall on extremely wet days has risen by nearly 20 per cent.
