UK sees smallest rise in virus deaths since lockdown began

Deaths from coronavirus in the UK are continuing to fall with the daily number of deaths rising by 55 today – but the World Health Organization has warned that infections are on the rise in many parts of the world.

And as the economic impact of lockdown is being weighed up, two new studies have found that the stringent measures imposed have saved millions of lives.Our health and social care editor Victoria Macdonald is in the newsroom with more.
