UK prepares for first space launch from Cornish airport

A small airport in Cornwall is about to make history – when it becomes the site of the very first space launch from the UK later this month.

A Virgin Orbit team is awaiting final clearance for the launch from Newquay which will send a batch of small satellites into space, including the first one built in Wales.

It’s hoped this will become a turning point for the UK’s space sector.
