UK net migration hits record high

Despite saying that net migration numbers in 2022 were “too high”, Rishi Sunak today insisted that he hadn’t lost control of the immigration system.

But his words didn’t mollify some of his backbenchers who said the situation was unsustainable, while Labour described the government’s approach as chaotic.
