UK growth stalling, latest GDP figures show

Chancellor Rachel Reeves is urging calm over the impact of a Trump presidency, telling this programme we shouldn’t “jump the gun” and assume he will impose tariffs on the UK.

She also said Britain must rebuild ties with the EU to boost trade.

Reeves has made economic growth a top priority, but was dealt a blow today, as official figures showed growth slowed to just 0.1 percent during Labour’s first three months in power.
