UK economy has fastest growth since World War Two

The UK economy grew by 7.5 per cent during 2021, as the country recovered from the financial shock of the pandemic. That is the fastest rate of growth since World War Two.

But that has only made up for the steep slump when the economy crashed in 2020, and comes as the country faces huge pressure on living standards, with rocketing inflation and wages falling further behind.
