UK chancellor Rishi Sunak admits: ‘We are spending a lot’

The UK economy managed to rebound out of recession during the summer when many restrictions were eased.

But new figures show the latest lockdowns are likely to shrink it again in the final three months of the year.  And the country’s economy is still almost 10 percent smaller than it was before the virus struck.

With businesses around the UK struggling to stay afloat and inequalities widening still further, we asked the chancellor what the government is doing to help.
