Trump’s legal team claims impeachment trial unconstitutional

Donald Trump’s legal team have begun setting out his defence in the Senate impeachment trial which begins tomorrow, insisting he deserved no blame for the conduct of “a small group of criminals” who rioted at the Capitol last month.

They denounced the entire case against him as “political theatre” and claimed the trial was unconstitutional.
