Trump condemns ‘extremist open-border Democrats’

President Trump may have done a U-turn on separating children from their families at the Mexican border, but his anger at being forced to row back remains white hot.

Railing against what he called “immigration laws supported by extremist open-border Democrats”, he complained of having to employ more judges to deal with the backlog of asylum cases.

However, on a visit to a border facility in Texas, First Lady Melania Trump was presenting a more diplomatic front, praising the staff who have been caring for over 2,000 children being held apart from their relatives.
