Trial offers hope for child cancer sufferers

It’s a childhood cancer affecting around 100 children every year in the UK.

It’s called neuroblastoma and for about half of those children it is aggressive and hard to treat.

If they relapse, many families go abroad for treatment. But the first ever transatlantic trial for the disease is now under way at the University of Southampton in the hope they can improve survival rates and be treated closer to home.

We went to meet Luke Bell, the first patient to be signed on to the trial.
