Trial begins for Trump’s former campaign chair, Paul Manafort

The trial of Donald Trump’s former campaign chair, Paul Manafort, has begun in Virginia.

It may not be about Russia, but it will be held in the shadow of the collusion controversy that’s long loomed over the White House.

Of all the Americans charged so far in the Mueller Investigation, Mr Manafort is the first to end up on trial – on charges of financial fraud.
