Tory MP tells health secretary to ‘get a grip’ and stop blaming public over Covid testing

Health and Social Care Editor

The Health Secretary has again said the country’s Covid testing system is being challenged in part because people without symptoms are using up tests.

But with some sick people being directed miles from home to find out if they have the virus, Conservative MPs are telling Mr Hancock to get a grip and stop blaming the public.

The latest figures show there have been another 2,919 coronavirus cases across the UK in the last 24 hours. The number of new deaths has gone up by 14 to a total of 41,608.

Of course nowhere is the question of testing more vital than for the residents in care homes and supported living.
