Thousands referred to the government’s anti-terror programme

Thousands of teenagers have been referred to the government’s anti-terror programme, known as Prevent – according to the first detailed figures published by the Home Office since the scheme was launched 12 years ago.  In total, more than seven and a half thousand people were referred between 2015 and 2016, with far-right extremism a growing concern.
