The life of ‘notorious’ Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who has died aged 87

A high profile law maker and a cultural icon nicknamed the Notorious RBG.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an outspoken advocate of women’s rights and, as only the second woman to become a Supreme Court judge, she left her mark on history.

In her last written statement she asked for her replacement on the Supreme Court benches to be decided after the US elections in November.

Her request has now ignited a fierce debate.
