The churches tackling Covid-19 vaccine mistrust

For most of us, today’s news about the coronavirus vaccine is reason to hope again – that it won’t always be like this, and life will one day return to something more normal.

But, for some people, the jab is something to fear. A snap poll by YouGov has found that, although the UK traditionally has a high take up of immunisations, one in five Britons are not confident the vaccine is safe.

We’ve been to Croydon in south London, where the first wave hit early and hit hard – and where some residents are mistrustful of the authorities.

Told through two churches in the area, these are the stories of those trying to help their congregations to have faith.
