Tens of thousands evacuated in Colorado as wildfires spread

Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated and hundreds of homes destroyed after wildfires ripped through the US state of Colorado.

A state of emergency has been declared as winds of over a hundred miles per hour swept flames across Boulder County, north of Denver, following an historic drought.

Authorities have warned deaths and injuries are likely as the fires spread further.
