Teenager found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Elianne Andam

A teenager has been found guilty of murdering 15-year-old Elianne Andam – after repeatedly stabbing her outside a south-east London shopping centre.

Hassan Sentamu, who’s now 18, had admitted manslaughter but claimed he was not in control of his actions because of his autism.

But the jury rejected that defence. Elianne’s father said it sent a message that violence and knife crime, especially towards young women, would not go unanswered.
