Tear gas and arrests in Zimbabwe during anti-government protests

Police in Zimbabwe have fired tear gas and waded in with batons to break up an anti-government protest in the capital, Harare – injuring several people and arresting scores more. The crowd gathered in defiance of a ban imposed by the authorities. The country’s main opposition leader accused the police of extreme brutality – and there’s growing concern this could be the start of a crackdown. Viewers may find some of the images distressing.
