Sudan: Civilians killed as battle for nation continues

Fighting between government troops and rebel paramilitary forces has intensified in the Sudanese capital Khartoum – as both sides battle for control of the country.

Dozens of people have been killed and hundreds injured as the fierce clashes continued for a second day – while the World Food Programme has suspended its operations in Darfur after three employees were killed.
