Son of murdered Maltese journalist calls for EU action on Prime Minister

Tonight’s EU summit in Brussels is about agreeing new targets for tackling climate change.

But members of the European parliament have told EU leaders they should also take the opportunity to tell Malta’s Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat, to resign immediately – as a police investigation into the murder of the journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia intensifies.

The Prime Minister is staying on, he says until the middle of next month.

But one of Galizia’s sons told Channel 4 News Mr Muscat should go now to help avoid any political interference in his mother’s case.
