Celebrated all over the world for his exuberant and rich dramas, the Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar has recently released his 21st movie – ‘Pain and Glory’ – a semi-autobiographical take on his life, starring Antonio Banderas and Penelope Cruz.

Almodóvar has won countless international trophies throughout his career, including two Oscars for ‘All About My Mother’ and ‘Talk to Her’ – earning him a cult following around the world.

He talks to Krishnan about the inspiration behind his new movie, working with Penelope Cruz and realising his own sexuality.
