Senate vote could lead to oil drilling in Alaska refuge

The newly passed U.S. Senate tax reform bill also includes legislation to allow drilling for oil in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, which conservationists say will destroy a vital habitat for wolves, polar bears and caribou. It comes just as a deal is finally put in place to protect the marine ecology of the Arctic Ocean, protecting the international waters from commercial fishing.
