Scottish families still cut off after the ‘Beast from the East’

Scotland Correspondent

After the ‘Beast from the East’ receded and Storm Emma blew herself out, most of the UK has finally thawed, but not so for the Carron Valley. Here some families have been cut off for the seventh day after deep snow drifts blocked access roads.

While the main road has been cleared, residents’ cars are still stuck fast in the snow. Food parcels arrived on Sunday and Monday, but residents here feel isolated, abandoned and forgotten by authorities.
