Hype can be a dangerous thing, says the Brit Award-winning musician Sam Fender, whose debut album has shot straight to number one in the charts.

The 25-year-old, who’s not shy of expressing his opinion on all sorts of issues from mental illness to nuclear war, insists he doesn’t want to be described as “the next Bruce Springsteen”.

But the sheer power of his guitar-led music hasn’t just gathered in the awards, he’s able to sell out 40,000-strong concerts in under an hour.
