Officials in Ukraine say they will help residents to leave recently liberated areas in the south – where Russian attacks have left millions of people desperately short of water, energy and heating as winter approaches.

In Kherson, more stories of violence during the nine month Russian occupation are emerging as well as evidence of another more subtle agenda.

When Russia’s forces entered, the city’s renowned art collections and other items of historical significance were high on the list of targets for looting.
