Russian businessman with anti-Putin links ‘was murdered’ in London

Chief Correspondent

Russian businessman Nikolai Glushkov was found dead at his home in south west London on Monday. Today counter-terror police said they were treating his death as murder after a post-mortem showed the cause of death as “compression to the neck”.

Mr Glushkov was a close associate of the oligarch and arch Putin critic Boris Berezovsky, who himself was found dead in Surrey five years ago. An inquest into his death recorded an open verdict. Nikolai Glushkov always maintained that his friend had been murdered.
