Russia Ukraine conflict: Could Lviv become the new capital of Ukraine?

We’re reporting tonight from Ukraine’s western capital: Lviv or Lvuv or Lemberg, depending on which century you’re in.

This city epitomises the fluid borders of a Middle Europe torn apart by the wars of the past.

If Kyiv falls and if Ukraine is partitioned this could become the capital of a free Ukraine, the West Berlin of the twenty-first century.

Today it is full of those fleeing the war, and hoping to cross the border into Poland.
