Russia gas limits: how will Europe make it through winter?

EU ministers have agreed to reduce their use of gas by 15% from next month onwards in order to save enough to get through the winter ahead – and break the dependency on Russia.

But the cutbacks are currently voluntary and come as Russian gas giant Gazprom announced that, from tomorrow, it’s making further drastic cuts to the supply of gas it sends through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline.
