Russia follows US in suspending nuclear treaty

Russia has suspended its involvement in a Cold War-era nuclear missile treaty, amid fears of a new arms race. The move was in response to the United States’ announcement yesterday that they were pulling out of the same treaty, claiming Russia has repeatedly violated its terms. Moscow strongly denies that, but President Putin today said Russia would begin developing new missiles immediately.
