Rise in GCSE passes but BTEC results are pulled by exam board

They are teenagers who have had their freedoms curtailed because of the pandemic. Unable to sit their exams and relying on algorithms to predict their results.

Today, students in the time of Covid finally had some good news. More than a quarter of pupils in England got top grades in their GCSEs.

But the agony for more than half a million BTEC students continues, as the awarding body pulled their results just hours before they were due to be issued.
