The Nursing and midwifery council admitted today the organisation’s inaction did endanger the lives of mothers and babies in Cumbria. Eleven mothers and one baby died at a hospital in Barrow between 2004 and 2013.
After a damning report on the regulator’s responce to the scandal – the NMC told this programme lives had NOT been put at risk.
Today, in front of MP’s at a select commitee hearing, they conceded that was wrong.
