Putin condemns North Korea sanctions

America’s attempt to drum up support for new sanctions against North Korea has run into trouble with the Russians. Vladimir Putin said sanctions were “useless and ineffective” and called for dialogue with Pyongyang. But North Korea signalled that it will never negotiate on its nuclear programme and warned that more missile tests, which it described as “gift packages addressed to America”, could be on their way.
