It was a tale of two cities in Hong Kong today. On one side of the harbour, thousands of pro-democracy demonstrators chanted “Liberate Hong Kong!”
Across the water, a pro-Beijing rally called for an end to the increasingly violent clashes. This is the eleventh weekend of protests, with many residents voicing their alarm at Chinese security force manoeuvres just across the border, as well as calling for an end to police brutality.
