Priti Patel says she is ‘absolutely sorry’ as PM backs her over bullying inquiry

Priti Patel has said she is “absolutely sorry” to anyone she has upset, after an official investigation found that at times, her behaviour could be described as bullying.

The home secretary said she had never intentionally set out to upset anyone, while Boris Johnson insisted she had his full confidence.

Ms Patel remains in her job, while the prime minister’s head of ministerial standards – who led the inquiry – has resigned from his post.
