Police launch criminal investigation into leaked diplomatic memos

Scotland Yard has insisted it has ‘no intention’ of trying to stop journalists from publishing stories in the public interest – but Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu also defended his warning to the media not to publish more leaked diplomatic memos from Britain’s ambassador to the United States.
