Police accused of ‘concealing errors’ that could have prevented murder

North of England Correspondent

A police force, probation service and police watchdog have been accused of a ‘systematic cover up’ over a man’s murder.

Speaking in the Commons – the Wrexham MP Ian Lucas has revealed mistakes he believes were made in the lead-up to the death of Nicholas Churton, two years ago.

Earlier this week we reported on two women murdered by their ex-partners despite repeatedly warning police that they feared for their lives. Tonight – in another case of lethal warnings overlooked.

Our north of England correspondent Clare Fallon has been talking exclusively to Mr Churton’s sister – who says she doesn’t want another family to go through a similar ordeal.
