P&O Ferries: Protests as government warns of ‘ramifications’

Downing Street has warned P&O Ferries it may face “ramifications” over its decision to sack 800 of its staff, without warning.

Protests were held at ports across the UK over yesterday’s announcement that the company was replacing its staff with cheaper agency workers.

Unions say there should be a boycott until the jobs are reinstated.
