Peterborough Prison criticised by inspectors

Inspectors have warned that safety at one of the country’s major jails for women is “not sufficiently good” . A report into HMP Peterborough said inmates felt intimidated by bullying and the use of force, as well as a high level of strip searches.  It follows  critical reports on conditions at other jails at a time when problems like violence and overcrowding are already causing concern across England and Wales.
